Kahana Bay
Always been one of my favorite places. This one is a view from the crouching lion down onto Kahana Bay.

Makapu'u lighthouse
A view down on makapu'u from the hike up to the lighthouse on the point. Rabbit island looks so all from this vantage point! Through the decades, I've really grown to treasure the raw beauty of the east side of Oahu and the koolau mountains. So lush, pristine, and alive. It's no mystery why so many people's favorite color is blue, when you grow up surrounded by it.

the ledge
Grabbed this off of the Tokoro blog of Wade Tokoro pushing himself over the ledge at pipe earlier in the week. Preparing for something like this is 85% mentally weighted. Putting oneself at the very mercy of nature with no satisfaction other than the purity of the spiritual moment and the feeling that all of one's senses are electrified to their harmonic capacities.

Pieta?
This photo won best of year for some award I can't remember. It was taken in Yemen of a woman holding one of her injured family members as the caption read. I couldn't decide what was most meaningful about it, the allusion to the barbarism of conflict, the mystery and controversy of the Gurkha, or the strong contemporary portrayal of the pieta..

Home
The warmth, texture, and relationship of forms and objects radiate a sense of home in the back of my mind. Maybe from a prior (or future) life...

Premonition
In speaking of presence, I'm really drawn to images that are experientially drenched. Emotively saturated with visceral presence. Poetry in presence.
