I heard an interesting and true statement this morning:
"an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind".
When the mist of the morning clears we're left clutching the palm of the person next to us. And although it may feel as though human hearts have hardened, we go on despite this adversity believing that the confirmation of our beliefs will someday prevail and that we will live in better times.
