may be a repost, but was just thinking about this curren cutback again today.
imagining siting the right curvature in the face down the line and powering through the arc gaining momentum as you're driven forward from the bowl of the pocket.  again, one of those images that conjures a hundred like-moments where you can literally feel the pressure shift in your stomach as you come around the hook.

another super classic shot by jeff divine of tom curren laying into one of the most replicated signature bottom turns in surfing.  i don't know how many of these same bottom turns i layed into visualizing myself in this exact position, but on a skateboard on my parents driveway...i have a feeling that i wasn't the only one.
btw, what the hell's that dude on the inside doing?
[edit] wait, i just figured it out.  he's actually standing up on the reef as it's sucking out for curren's wave...been there, done that and i feel for the guy.  not a pretty sight being like a sand crab about to get macked by the tc freight train. ouch.
